About Us
Across the "Rainbow" Bridge, past the winding River Leven where many a salmon has been caught sits Bonhill Church.
The first modern church was built close to the river in 1747, and was replaced in 1835 by the present building on the site of the earlier smaller church. However for the past thirty years Rev Ian Miller, Bonhill's much loved and entertaining minister has been marrying couples in the Church and within a whole variety of locations across Scotland and abroad.
Rev Miller says "I consider it one my greatest privileges to be part of what should be for the couple the very best day of life. It has been fun meeting some great folk who have trusted me with their special day. Last year it was fun to be part of footballer's Kenny Miller and Chris Killen's weddings. I consider that every wedding is different because people are different. Every wedding should contain the serious, the humorous, indeed the laughter and tears that are reflected in life. I appreciate the opportunity of showing that the wedding service can be enjoyed rather than endured. We would describe our approach to the community and visitors as warm and embracing and my belief is that both myself and Bonhill Church should be open and available to all".
Rev Miller has produced an informative DVD which will take you through what he would normally do both inside and outside the church for your wedding. To receive a copy of this DVD please contact the office between 9 am - 12 noon Monday to Friday.
